As a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Communications & Spectrum Dominance (CSD) Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, national security, search & rescue and airborne law enforcement agencies. About the Role

Develops, organizes and delivers technical training programs and related materials in support of customers and/or company employees. Works with customer and functional organizations to establish course content and objectives. Prepares lesson plans from engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation. Ensure course material reflects current product features. Instruct participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Follows up determining applicability of course material.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Deliver EO/IR system operation and maintenance courses to Customers world-wide, both on-site and at company facilities
  • Design, develop, and implement operator and integrated system level technical operations and maintenance training courses for WESCAM customers and internal personnel.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert within a specialized technical support team, providing technical guidance, instruction, and mentorship to new WESCAM staff
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of best practices for operator-level and integrated systems troubleshooting.
  • Support the commissioning of integrated systems platforms for customer installations, demonstrations and industry trade shows.
  • Design, review, and maintain course assessments, evaluations, and validation tools; incorporate learner feedback to continuously enhance training effectiveness
  • Support Technical Publications and Logistics Engineering teams to ensure training materials and documentation align with system capabilities and service requirements
  • Proactive interface with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Engineering, Field Service, and other internal WESCAM teams to ensure training content reflects current configurations and operational realities
  • Support the validation of Service Procedures, as a part of New Product Introductions (NPI) activities.
  • Support sales and bid activities by providing technical training input and responding to customer training requirements
  • Travel domestically and internationally 30–60% of the time in support of training delivery and customer engagements

Required Capabilities

  • Demonstrated professional instructional and facilitation skills in technical training environments.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with diverse technical and customer audiences.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, self-driven approach in dynamic environments.
  • Solid technical foundation in electronics, electro-mechanical, electro-optical, and video systems, with an operations and maintenance focus.
  • Extensive experience supporting integrated systems in engineering, maintenance, or technical training roles.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America and internationally (up to 30–60%).
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Desired Education and Experiences 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a combination of relevant education and equivalent technical experience.
  • Professional training certification or equivalent hands-on instructional experience.
  • Experience developing and delivering structured technical training programs.
  • Familiarity with government training standards and applicable training-related MIL-STDs.
  • Knowledge of e-learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training technologies.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional technical training experience.
  • Multilingual capability (French preferred) considered an asset.
  • Experience (6+ years) designing, integrating, or supporting mission systems consoles or equipment platforms is an asset.
  • Systems integration experience (6+ years) within aerospace, land, or maritime vehicle platforms is an asset.

*This posting is for a current vacancy.  In the province of Ontario, Canada, the pay range for this position will be $79,500 to $129,500
