Inventory Control Clerk, Afternoons Level B

Primary Responsibilities 

• Receiving incoming material from various suppliers & external customers
• Unloading boxes/totes from carriers
• Stock/process audits and variance investigation
• Maintaining high level of Inventory Accuracy
• Make arrangements with carriers to have shipments picked up from local suppliers
• Production Point of Use Inventory replenishment including recording transactions
• Provide customer service at the Stores wicket including completion of inventory transactions
• Operate material handling equipment
• General housekeeping tasks within the Receiving area

Required Capabilities 

• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing concepts
• Demonstrated knowledge of MRP systems
• Experience working with a perpetual computerized inventory management system
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially MS Excel & Word
• Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative ability
• Strong communications skills
• Ability to meet physical demands-prolonged standing, climbing ladders, carrying and lifting 20kgs

Desired Education and Experiences 

• Requires developing job knowledge/skills.
• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
• Post Secondary Education in Operations Management APICS is an asset
• CPIM designation or working towards
• 2 years’ experience in inventory control
• Successfully complete the Contract Security Program to obtain the required additional security clearance
