Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies currently has an opening for a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer – Space Operations Coordinator for an important national security program.
The successful candidate will join a high-performing team of Government and Contractor professionals supporting real-time space operations. The Space Operations Coordinator will support the NRO Operations Center (NOC) Manager by leading day-to-day coordination efforts across crew and technical teams. This role requires an experienced individual with a strong background in satellite or space operations, who can work closely with system engineers, mission planners, and customer stakeholders. The candidate will play a critical role in managing requirement vetting, planning and executing testing events, and supporting the onboarding and acceptance of operational tools.
This position requires an active TS//SCI clearance with CI Polygraph and involves direct interface with customer leadership and multi-segment teams. A background in systems engineering and familiarity with orbital mechanics or astrodynamics is highly desirable.
Essential Functions:
- Support the NOC Operations Manager in coordinating daily operations and task execution.
- Interface with crew team leads and systems engineers to ensure mission readiness and alignment across operational shifts.
- Coordinate and execute requirement vetting, test event planning, and validation efforts for new capabilities.
- Assist with onboarding and tool acceptance testing in a structured mission environment.
- Track and mange integration, verification, validation, and test (IVVT) activities.
- Maintain high attention to detail across multiple complex tasks in a dynamic operational environment.
- Engage with customer stakeholders and support communications and documentation efforts as required.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of evolving mission requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly clearance required.
- 1+ years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- 1+ years of experience with SKT (System Tool Kit) and Astrodynamics.
- 1+ years of scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash) for tool integration or automation.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- NRO, DoD, or commercial space operations experience.
- Multi-segment exercise planning or coordination experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field (preferred).
