Programs within this portfolio span the full lifecycle — including active development, production, and sustainment — and encompass satellite communications systems, space networking architectures, and associated ground infrastructure.
In this role, the Program Manager will have full accountability for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned programs, while driving key business results and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The Program Manager will serve as the primary customer interface, leading program reviews, managing expectations, and ensuring consistent and transparent communication throughout the program lifecycle. This role also requires effective communication and collaboration across internal stakeholders, including engineering, operations, contracts, and senior leadership, to ensure program objectives are met and business commitments are fulfilled.
Essential Functions:
- Lead end-to-end execution of assigned programs, managing cost, schedule, and technical performance in accordance with contractual and internal requirements
- Prepare and deliver program status reviews to leadership, covering financials, schedule, risk, opportunities, contract activity, and technical performance
- Serve as the primary customer point of contact, maintaining regular communication and managing expectations throughout the program lifecycle
- Establish and maintain program baselines and milestones; identify variances and drive corrective action as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, contractual obligations, applicable regulations, and industry standards
- Lead and develop cross-functional program teams, promoting collaboration, accountability, and high performance
- Manage integrated master schedules, risk registers, and action item tracking across concurrent workstreams
- Lead contract closeout activities, including verification of deliverables, final billing coordination, customer property disposition, and data submittal completion.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field with a minimum of 6 years of experience in program management or a related discipline within the defense industry; OR a Graduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
- Active DoD Security Clearance, or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to travel up to 10% annually.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance on defense programs.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with experience in customer-facing roles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including MS Project, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, negotiation, customer-facing, and executive-level presentation skills.
- Demonstrated aptitude in program scheduling, production program management, and cost management.
- Knowledge of FAR/DFAR, DPAS rated contracts, and DoW customer environments.
- Experience with and knowledge of space domain platforms and customers.
- An active TS/SCI clearance is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with broad-based consideration of organizational impact.
- Experience managing large development and production programs.
- Experience in different phases of project and program management, from proposal and ensuing negotiations through contract award, project planning, project execution and closeout.
- Excellent communication/presentation skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and its application.
- Demonstrated experience with the program integrated master schedule (IMS), including data input/output and progress tracking on the program.
