Job Description:
The L3Harris Communication Systems segment Tactical Communications sector is seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Technical Professional experienced in Project Engineering to join an engineering organization that designs and delivers fully-automated test and measurement systems. As part of a Level III Maintenance program, our systems are offered to DoD and international defense customers to support the repair, test, and tuning of L3Harris communication products and systems.
The successful candidate will support the management of a portfolio of projects that include hardware and software development, system integration, documentation, and lifecycle support. As a senior member of the team, the candidate will have hands-on responsibility for leading projects, and will work collaboratively across the engineering, product management, and sales organizations to develop cost estimations (labor and material), manage requirements, establish technical baselines, configuration management, process artifact review and approval, risk management/analysis, and project execution management.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, project management, and teamwork skills are required.
Essential Functions:
·The candidates main focus will be to manage the execution of engineering projects that include the following types of tasks/activities
oDesign, development, and debugging of software applications for control/automation of test and measurement equipment.
oContinuous improvement of measurement algorithms, techniques and reporting to improve quality and reduce overall cost.
oConsulting with electrical engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate measurement techniques.
oParticipation in the development of new software architectures designed to maximize reuse, reduce development costs, and improve software quality.
oPorting of existing test applications to new platforms.
·The candidate will be asked to support existing orders as well as new proposals as we continue to grow our test solutions business.
Projects may occasionally require management of installation and commissioning of test systems at customer facilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
·Project Engineering experience
·Schedule development using MS Project
·Agile/Scrum methodologies
·Project and Release planning using Atlassian JIRA
·Basic Software Development process knowledge
Basic understanding of Audio, USB, RS-232, Ethernet, Radio communications.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York State is $90,500- $168,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
