  • Support engineering estimates, schedules, design documentation, and internal and external design-review material.
  • Support procurement by evaluating technical alternatives and addressing component obsolescence or availability issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developing engineers and support Electrical Engineering leads with task planning and delegation.
  • Work onsite in Northampton, Massachusetts. Occasional business travel may be required by exception.
  • Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • 6 or more years of electrical engineering experience in a product-development environment.
  • Experience with mixed-signal Circuit Card Assembly design and development, including requirements derivation, component selection, circuit design and analysis, layout review, test, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic interference (EMI) design, analysis, testing, and troubleshooting for Circuit Card Assemblies and higher-level electronic systems.
  • Experience moving electronic designs from concept through verification, release, integration, and production support.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly in written documentation, design reviews, and cross-functional discussions.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Mentor Graphics PADS and/or Xpedition
  • Experience with FPGA-based electronics, including Xilinx devices and VHDL; familiarity with TIVA microcontrollers or digital signal processors is a plus.
  • Experience with electronics used in maritime, defense, or other high-reliability applications.
  • Experience designing automated test equipment, test sets, or cable harnesses.
  • Familiarity with configuration management, engineering change control, and production documentation.
  • Familiarity with thermal, tolerance, and reliability analysis for electronic hardware.
  • Experience supporting electronics manufacturing, failure analysis, and corrective redesign.
  • Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring in a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
