Job Description:
L3Harris Northampton, MA, is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in support of Department of Defense programs.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain the operational security posture for programs and information systems
- Prepare, review, and maintain documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Assessment and Authorization packages, and other documentation to support Information System accreditation
- Assist the ISSM in policy creation/update, maintaining information system security records.
- Provide assistance on IT and information system security issues that may affect the mission of the customer.
- Assess and validate proper security control implementation
- Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals; and ensure audit records are collected, reviewed, and documented (to include any anomalies)
- Track and complete Plans of Action & Milestones (POAMs) against accredited information systems
- Develop and maintain a directorate focused information systems security program to ensure compliance of IT assets with accreditation requirements specified under ICD 503, DAAPM, IC, and DoD regulations, policies, and procedures
- Perform system and network self-inspections, identifying information system vulnerabilities and implementing counter measures.
- Provide technical advisory support to the ISSM on Information Systems Security related issues and technologies.
- The position requires strong critical thinking/analytical skills, attention to detail, creativity, and a sustained commitment to excellence and quality
- The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills
Qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret Security Clearance at start of work.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field or equivalent. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
- 2 years’ experience in information assurance/security experience. RMF/NISPOM preferred
- Experience with Risk Management Framework (800-53)
- Familiarity with personnel security and physical security processes
- Familiarity with applicable DoD policies, procedures, and operating instruction related to IT and IA
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience submitting system accreditation packages in eMASS
- Experience with NESSUS highly desired
- Experience with classified network and information systems
- Familiarity with system architecture, to include LAN design and maintenance, controlled interfaces, etc.
- Security + certification
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $70K-130K. For California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $80K-$149K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
