Job Description:

The Quality Engineering role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining compliance to internal, Customer, and program requirements to support and ensure compliance with AS9100. The role is also expected to assist in developing robust manufacturing processes, perform process/product validations (FAI), and recommend manufacturability improvements (process and design) through use of APQP elements. The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring program performance and remaining compliant with site QA goals. This is achieved through creating Program Quality Plans, implementation of robust countermeasures upon notification of nonconforming material and/or assemblies, driving RCCA both internally as well as with suppliers, and performing thorough final product sell-off. The individual in this role will be required to utilize a continuous improvement mentality, engage in Zero Defect Projects, have knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning, and apply New Product Development strategies.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead program quality execution across all phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Support site leadership and crossfunctional organizations through participation in design and process development, risk identification and mitigation, and continuous monitoring of production performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes and ensure adherence with AS9100 Quality Management System requirements.
  • Lead RCCA activities to resolve technical/operational issues affecting program execution.
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements.
  • Develop Zero Defect Projects to support improved defect yield and reduce product risk.
  • Implement QA strategic initiatives to improve program yield/delivery and reduce nonconformances through implementation of robust countermeasures.
  • Serve as the program QA focal point to interface between Quality Leadership and the program team.
  • Travel requirement: Up to 10%.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective action, and structured problem-solving tools.
  • Experience supporting production of high-complexity aerospace products.
  • Experience interfacing with U.S. government agencies and prime aerospace customers.
  • Experience with APQP, Zero Defects, and NPD.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, PowerBI, Visio, and Minitab.
  • Experience in APQP and New Product Development
  • High level understanding and knowledge of AS9100, verification/validation, and quantitative analysis.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York (Greater NYC area) is $96,000.00 MIN - $178,000.00 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
