Job Schedule: Day Shift - Must be available on call on weekends and holidays for AOG support (on rotation, remote work)

Compensation Range: Between $70,000 - $120,000 CDN annually

Your next challenge as a Senior Procurement Specialist will be to leverage your expertise to support the planning and execution of goods and services acquisition activities, under the supervision of the Procurement Manager. By collaborating with various stakeholders, you will contribute to interpreting and optimizing procurement-related operational processes, improving existing systems and practices, and supporting the achievement of objectives associated with projects that directly impact department performance.

Essential Functions: 

  • Ensure thorough monitoring of orders, from their issuance to their full execution, ensuring compliance with deadlines and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers and analyze their operations to identify factors influencing prices, while seeking the best overall cost considering quality, reliability, and assessing supplier’s ability to meet delivery requirements.
  • Review proposals, negotiate prices, recommend or select suppliers, analyze market trends, and keep required documentation up to date.
  • Prepares request for proposals (RFPs) and tender documents, as required.
  • Negotiate contractual terms in accordance with the company’s policies and guidelines.
  • Manage claims with suppliers regarding damages, refusals, losses, returns of equipment, excess quantities, cancellations, or technical changes.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, laws, and applicable regulations, particularly regarding anti-corruption measures.
  • Actively participate in mentoring within our group and other groups within the company.
  • Lead medium to large-scale projects.
  • Take charge of continuous improvement projects, including procedures and processes.
  • Take the lead in identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex operational problems, ensuring quick and effective solutions either in a team or individually.
  • Manage urgent orders related to grounded aircraft (AOG), including coordinating transportation and logistics, even outside normal hours.
  • Must be available on call on weekends and holidays for AOG support (on rotation, remote work).

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Experience in aircraft in-service support is an asset.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, IPCs, and other technical documents is an asset.
  • Good understanding of the supply chain for commercial aviation operations.
  • Experience with the Airbus A310 or other similar commercial aircraft is an asset.
  • Experience with MRP software, preferably SAP or RAMCO, is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is essential.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
