Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Program Quality Engineer to work at our state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Facility - AMF-South location near the airport in Huntsville, AL. AMF-South is our inert manufacturing facility for fabrication and assembly of rocket motor hardware encompassed in approximately 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We are answering the call from the Department of War and are looking for a motivated professional to help achieve that goal.
The Senior Specialist, Program Quality Engineer is a senior professional with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of program/project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Customer facing individual who ensures proper knowledge transfer to all governmental agencies whole maintaining strict compliance to AS9100 rules for the business. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Essential Functions:
·Project Management:
oLead and manage projects to improve inspection methods, equipment, and processes.
oDevelop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets.
oCoordinate cross-functional teams for project execution.
·Inspection Methods and Equipment:
oEvaluate and implement advanced inspection technologies.
oDesign robust inspection processes to ensure product quality.
oOversee installation, calibration, and maintenance of inspection equipment.
·Process Improvement:
oApply Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency.
oConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
oDevelop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inspection.
·Capital and Manpower Management:
oPrepare capital expenditure proposals for new inspection technologies.
oManage project budgets and ensure cost-effective solutions.
oCoordinate manpower requirements and training.
·Strategic Planning:
oAlign inspection strategies with long-term business objectives.
oIdentify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
oCollaborate with senior management on strategic quality initiatives.
·Data Analysis and Reporting:
oAnalyze inspection data to identify trends and improvement areas.
oGenerate reports and presentations for stakeholders.
oEnsure accurate documentation of inspection results.
·Collaboration and Communication:
oWork with engineering, production, and quality teams for alignment.
oCommunicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
oProvide technical guidance and support as needed.
·Compliance and Standards:
oEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
oStay updated on advancements in inspection technologies.
oLead internal and external audits related to inspection processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior Quality Engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
