Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies has an opportunity for a mid-level, Integration and Test engineer to join an established program in our Tactical Missions Division program team. This position requires hands-on experience building test automation for custom designed user web portal, back-end server systems and associated satellite communication hardware. This engineer is required to test and troubleshoot software issues in both a test lab and operational environment. This engineer works closely with systems engineers, software developers, and other integration and test engineers to develop automated and manual testing capabilities.
The primary responsibility of the test engineer in this position is to perform the following:
- Provide automated & manual test engineering support (troubleshooting complex operational issues, performing root cause analysis, working with RF/Wireless devices and web management platforms) to a mission critical GOV/DOD communication system.
- Able to understand and create test procedures and tests plans using provided system requirements.
- Automate software build, enhancement, and regression tests, including providing automation performance metrics.
- Automate existing manual test procedures as applicable.
- Develop test scenarios, create manual and automation tests, and conduct acceptance tests for Level 2 requirements of software applications and hardware.
- Perform root cause analysis of defects found during testing with other engineer disciplines and create defects for resolution.
- Work daily with engineers & technicians to implement, troubleshoot, and resolve test issues.
- Recognize and identify opportunities to introduce automation in the testing process, design and implement solutions to exploit those opportunities.
- Ability to obtain security clearance which requires US citizenship.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4-6 years of prior test experience. or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2-4 years of prior test experience. In lieu of a degree, 8-10 years of prior test experience.
- Secret Clearance
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience:
- Designing, architecting, and testing automation scripts in the GUI layer and the API (Service) layers of the Test Pyramid for web applications and desktop applications.
- Troubleshooting complex system-related issues, performing root cause analysis, and correcting issues.
- Experience of formal testing of systems is required.
- Scripting and test automation experience using Selenium, bash, Python, Python test frameworks, Tera Term.
- Working with MySQL, SQLite database.
- Working with Linux systems.
- Trouble-shooting complex systems consisting of hardware, software, and communications systems.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with integration of solutions into mixed on-premises and Cloud environments.
- Experience in applying data analytics to enable risk-based decision making and efficient system operations.
- Working knowledge of Atlassian products such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket and add-ons such as Zephyr test management tools.
- Must be detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $87,000 - $161,000 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
