Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Senior Strategist to support Maritime Programs within the Strategic Missions Division at our Herndon, VA location. This role offers the opportunity to lead the strategic planning process, assess market viability, and prioritize investment direction. As a Senior Strategist, you will shape the portfolio, provide consulting expertise, and project manage critical strategic initiatives within the Division. Additionally, you will lead the division in strategic initiatives, campaigns, and growth synergies as well as conduct analysis and research and develop recommendations. This role involves translating market and business ideas into clear, concise, and compelling strategic directions. Your professionally recognized skills and experience will deliver vital contributions to mission critical maritime solutions that help protect the USA and our allies.
Essential Functions:
• Support the Division GM with operational strategies to meet AOP commitments and generate strategic operational material for internal and external communications.
• Provide strategic direction for investment planning and operational strategies to division support functions to meet growth objectives.
• Lead key projects to drive overall division strategy, offering strategic advisement and recommendations to division leadership.
• Develop and improve a long-term division strategy addressing market/customer needs, technology development, differentiated solutions, and organizational alignment.
• Lead the development of the annual Strategic Plan process for divisions and structure work plans to deliver business impact on high-priority issues.
• Analyze market intelligence and industry trends, craft go-to-market and monetization strategies and create compelling executive-level business presentations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners, identify potential acquisition and strategic alliance opportunities, and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders.
• Generate innovative insights from analysis, communicate results effectively, and work with business partners to develop and implement new methodologies and analysis to drive actionable results
• Demonstrate a high level of integrity as well as open and productive collaboration
• Facilitate teamwork across multiple functions within the segment
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Or, Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
• 12 years of related experience spanning global corporate strategy (ideally in the defense or aerospace industry or other relevant technology market)
• 4 years of consulting experience with a leading strategy consulting firm (i.e. McKinsey, BCG, Bain, PwC)
• 10 years of project management experience including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously
• 5 years in Intelligence Community markets
• Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI Clearance
• High level of business/financial acumen
• Global business acumen in defense or aerospace and/or relevant technology markets with broad knowledge of changing defense markets
• Strong executive presence as well as the ability to effectively influence and make recommendations at all levels of the organization
