Job Description:
L3Harris Corporation is currently seeking a high-energy Senior Manager for Operations. This is an onsite role located at our Fall River, MA facility.
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for strategic and daily execution of the manufacturing function and will report to the Maritime Sector Senior Director. This position will provide support to several different projects by managing the Manufacturing team’s resources.
Essential Functions:
The Senior Manager of Operations Management will be responsible for the safety, cost, quality, delivery, and productivity of the manufacturing teams. This position will work closely with multiple functional areas to optimize material flow, equipment, and workforce requirements within the area to meet or exceed daily business objectives. In this role, you will provide leadership to the Production Supervisors and team members and drive continuous improvement, remove waste and cost from their product lines, and improve material flows within the manufacturing process.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in developing the production build plan; oversee the daily execution of the plan
- Review Daily Management Boards, lead daily production standups and daily/weekly meetings
- Lead yield improvement activities, drives measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product utilizing Lean Manufacturing Principles
- Identify and perform capital equipment justification and process capital equipment request (CER) as required
- Drive advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping & cost reduction opportunities
- Create & support implementation of cross training initiatives to support short & long-term needs
- Ensure utilization of work instructions, routers, logs, scrap tickets, training matrix, calibration requirements and company procedures
- Willingness to lead teams on weekends when required
- Provide & present daily, weekly and monthly status reports as required
- Participate in the SIOP Process as a Stakeholder providing input on the build plan and Production capacity
- Holds IPT accountable for Quality Clinic process and manage non-conforming material and MRB inventories, to minimize out of WIP cycle.
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance within 6 months of hire
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years prior related experience or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience; including knowledge and understanding of manufacturing methods, lean methodology, production planning, quality management systems. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with Enterprise ERP system experience and familiarity.
- Experience with (or understanding of) Earned Value Management (EVM) and its principles.
- Experience in Material Planning and knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Experience with Sales, Inventory, and Operations planning (SIOP)
- Experience managing production programs involving the build, integration and test of electronic and/or electromechanical systems.
- Experience developing proposal inputs.
- Demonstrated strong experience implementing a metric driven approach across all Operations functions.
- Demonstrated fundamental knowledge in EH&S to drive zero injury plans with a proactive approach.
- Experience in leading a cross functional team or previous supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- DoD experience preferred.
- Lean & 6 Sigma Green/Black Belt desired.
- Strong interpersonal skills and mentoring ability
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An effective communicator at all levels of the organization.
- Must be a US citizen
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Knowledge and familiarity with SAP / S4Hana
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado State, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont and New York State is $107K-$199K. For California, New Jersey, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland Greater Washington D.C. area, the city of Denver, Washington State and New York City, the salary range for this role is $123-$229K. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
