About your next Challenge as a Associate Manager, Operations Management:
The Associate Manager – Operations is responsible for leading, organizing, and directing operational activities within their department. This role ensures production schedules are achieved while meeting quality, safety, cost, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, operational management expertise, and the ability to build and motivate a high-performing team in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
What will you do:
- Oversee daily operations while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and Department of National Defence (DND) site regulations.
- Lead and support a team of employees by fostering a collaborative, safe, and respectful workplace.
- Plan, prioritize, and monitor departmental workloads to align with project schedules, budgets, and customer requirements.
- Manage workforce scheduling, including review and approval of employee timesheets.
- Monitor progress and communicate project status, risks, and challenges to L3H Mirabel and internal stakeholders.
- Support employees in resolving technical and operational issues, ensuring work is completed to required standards.
- Promote skill development through coaching, training, and mentoring, while fostering future leadership capability.
- Drive employee engagement by encouraging continuous improvement and innovation.
- Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety practices in compliance with corporate and DND regulations.
- Act as a change agent by leading and supporting initiatives that enhance efficiency, quality, and workplace culture.
Required Skills and Experiences:
- College or university degree in engineering, operations management, aerospace, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in aerospace operations management, aircraft maintenance, or related pre-flight operations.
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in a technical environment.
- Strong knowledge of operational planning, scheduling, and workforce management.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems (asset).
- Excellent communication skills in English (French is an asset).
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on results and organizational values
Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
