The company’s Jefferson Road Operations Center (JROC) in Rochester is one of the world’s most advanced manufacturing facilities for tactical communications products for military and government customers in the United States and across the globe. These solutions deliver unprecedented situational awareness through high-speed transmission of voice, data and full-motion video.
At other facilities in Rochester, we design, manufacture and integrate high-resolution imaging systems for government and commercial satellites as well as ground-based astronomy systems. Since the 1960s, L3Harris employees have played key roles on major NASA programs such as Apollo, Chandra X-Ray Observatory, the James Webb Space Telescope and the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. We provide satellite communications solutions to the intelligence community; the U.S. Department of War; civilian agencies at the federal, state and local level; and international customers.

In Amityville, L3Harris designs and manufactures mission-critical airborne carriage and release systems, and advanced antenna solutions, supporting
U.S. and allied platforms worldwide, including F-35, F-16, F-15, P-8, MQ-9, KF-21, as well as other major fighter platforms.
Cutting-edge L3Harris technologies are also utilized by many of the state’s first responders and essential workers to keep themselves and their fellow New Yorkers connected and safe. L3Harris’ resilient and interoperable radio systems provide many of New York’s police and sheriff’s departments, fire departments, transportation authorities, public works agencies, authorities and schools with reliable communications.
Additionally, in 2024 L3Harris received a contract award to upgrade the New York State Thruway Authority’s critical communications infrastructure, including voice and data connectivity, throughout its 570-mile jurisdiction. The company will deliver Two47TM Base Stations to roughly 40 sites spanning New York City to the western border with Canada, delivering secure, interoperable communications through reliable, agile networks.
