Essential Responsibilities 

The applicant is an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Auditor who will oversee the accuracy and continuity of our Business Process Management System (BPMS) in accordance with AS9100D standards. The successful candidate will support and lead internal audits, coordinate and manage external audits, and align continuous improvement across all functions of the business. This position requires a certified AS9100D Lead Auditor with a strong background in aerospace.

  • Internal Audits: Lead the planning, execution, and documentation of internal audits, assessing compliance against AS9100D and customer-specific requirements
  • External Audits: Own and act as the primary liaison for external audits conducted by customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies
  • BPMS: Support the maintenance and continuity of the Quality Management System
  • CAPA: Develop, implement, and monitor corrective and preventative actions based on audit findings and process non-conformities
  • Training & Guidance: Provide training and guidance to internal auditors and functional department subject matter experts on auditing techniques, and AS9100D requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Utilizes quality tools and risk-based thinking to improve accuracy and remove ambiguity from our business and quality management system
  • Management Review: Ensure the management review process is effective, documented, and providing meaningful insight that support leadership decision-making
  • QMS Metrics: Utilize QMS metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Industry Standards: Remain current on industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements affecting the QMS

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • 5+ years experience in quality assurance within the aerospace or defense industry
  • Certified AS9100D Lead Auditor
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Expert certificate an asset
  • Project Management designation (PMP) an asset
  • Experienced working and leading cross-functional teams

Preferred Additional Skills

  • This position requires a self-starter, capable of taking ownership of their work, and managing their time
  • Proven experience leading AS9100D audits and supporting external certification or customer audits
  • Ability to influence, facilitate and develop relationships to build on a collaborative work environment
  • Demonstrated analytical, 8D problem-solving and ability to coach others in the methodology
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality inspection methods, and configuration management
  • Ability to develop and utilize Power BI for data analytics
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
