Job Description:
Sales Account Manager – Defense Sector Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, Guyana and Suriname
Seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) retired Army or Navy officer (Major or above, retired 2+ years) to lead sales efforts across the army, the navy, the air force, the joint chiefs of staff, “prefectura”, ministry of security, and U.S. federal agencies in the mentioned countries. Must have deep knowledge of procurement process within each of the mentioned countries specially in Argentina. Responsibilities include maintaining core accounts, driving growth in new verticals, and managing CRM, programs, and compliance.
Essential Functions:
- 50% travel requirement within the mentioned countries
- Develop and nurture SCO relationships within the US Embassy in the mentioned countries
- Develop demonstrations with complete understanding of tactical networks, systems & cybersecurity.
- Create and implement strategic account plans to meet revenue targets and expand market share within key defense and government accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including untapped verticals, product upselling, and cross-agency engagements.
- Understand and guide internal teams through local acquisition procedures (e.g., B2B portal, direct awards, and competitive tenders).
- Monitor market trends, analyze competitor activities, and position offerings to maintain a competitive edge.
- Participate in and support all demonstrations and/or military exercises with the mentioned countries and the USA (if applies)
- Collaborate with engineering, program management, legal, and finance teams to develop proposals, pricing strategies, and contract responses.
- Provide post-sale support to ensure successful delivery, integration, and long-term customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics engineering. MBA (strong plus)
- 5+ years of experience working with the CALA region
- Major (US Amry) or Lt. Commander (US Navy) or above, retired 2+ years.
- Experience working (coming from) with NORTHCOM, SOUTHCOM, INL or other US Agency is a plus.
- Proven success managing government accounts
- Previous experience engaging senior military and civilian decision-makers
- Familiarity with U.S. FMS, DCS, and ITAR/EAR compliance framework
- Demonstrated understanding of the countries mentioned government procurement processes and platforms (e.g., B2B portal, direct awards, framework agreements)
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English
- Capable of preparing and delivering complex technical and commercial proposals
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales/account plans
- Deep understanding of the defense technology landscape (radios, ISR, C2, tactical networks, etc.)
- Analytical and competitive intelligence skills
- High integrity with strict adherence to ethical and compliance standards (FCPA, ITAR, company policy)
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, 50% of the time
- Prior military service (i.e. US Army or US Navy) is a must
- Cannot be of Chilean or Brazilian descent.
