Job Description:

L3Harris Communications Systems Segment is looking for a highly motivated candidate to fulfil the role of Director, Business Development. This role is a senior level key stakeholder in the development and execution of L3Harris Communications System’s annual operating and strategic growth plan. The individual will be responsible for facilitating and capturing current business and the identification of new business opportunities within the Army communications, soldier systems, airborne and unmanned markets.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the segment’s strategic growth planning (SGP) and annual operating plan (AOP) processes.
  • Work across business sectors to develop, manage and execute Army growth strategy with an emphasis on pipeline development.
  • Identify and capture new business within the assigned Army customer accounts. 
  • Lead and coordinate cross-sector demos and exercises with Army leaders inclusive of AFC, PEO’s, and units.
  • Trade show lead for segment Army activities.
  • Lead senior customer engagements and MARCOM strategy with Army.
  • Lead cross-sector strategic campaign coordination across multiple customers and services extending beyond Army.
  • Responsibility for leading Gates 0-2 of the Common Capture Process.
  • Support industry partnerships and teaming agreements to enhance win strategies.
  • Develop and present executive level briefings and presentations on business cases that support growth in existing and new markets.
  • Work closely with account managers, business development managers, program management, product line management, engineering and other core functional leaders across the segment and corporate organizational structure.
  • Possess strong communication, presentation, negotiation, collaboration and cross functional leadership skills.
  • In depth knowledge of DoD requirements and acquisition processes.
  • Ability to travel approx. 50%

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 13 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.
  • Active US Secret Security Clearance required

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Understand soldier systems with strong understanding of associated requirements.
  • Know tactical waveforms and communications requirements for the U.S. Army customer.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) from an accredited institution.
  • DoD industry experience; Senior US Army Officer background with current and relevant knowledge of the US Army processes, requirements, and acquisitions.
  • Top Secret Clearance
  • Experience working with DoD prime system integrators. Negotiating teaming agreements, defining Scope of Work, and Partnerships.
  • Experience developing new business opportunities within the Department of Defense

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $171,500 - $318, 500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $149,000 - $277,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
