What the role will involve
As the Support and Test Engineer you will have experience in the Assembly, Test and Repair of multi-portfolio Defence equipment. You will report to the Customer Services Support Team Leader, your primary role is to successfully execute the best practice on-time, on-cost and on-quality execution of all CS Repairs activities. To succeed in this role, you shall be outcome and Customer focused, ideally experienced with the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of high technology, electro/mechanical equipment portfolios.
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
·Primarily undertake the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capability of the L3Harris Robotics Explosive Ordinance Device (EOD), Remote Control Vehicle (RCV) product portfolio.
·Support RCV software and calibration upgrades at UK operator sites as required.
·Support meetings with Customer and internal meetings as required.
·Additionally, undertake service, repair and test activities L3Harris Technologies customer return products, including initial damage and warranty assessments in accordance with build/test instructions.
·Provide a first point of contact and resolution for technical issues with Assembly, Test and Repair activities.
·Setup of manual and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) test sites in accordance with Product Test Specification (PTS) instructions.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
·Relevant experience in electronic/electro-mechanical assembly
·Competent in the use of hand tools, wiring and PCB repair
·Knowledge of Mechanical & Electronic principles and testing
·Experience working in a test environment
·Demonstrable fault finding skills
·Experience of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques, e.g. Lean or Six Sigma
·Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
