What the role will involve
Are you looking for the next step in your project management career and seeking a Project Manager role? We have a new opportunity for a developing project management professional to join our Intelligence & Cyber EMEA division. The role will report to our Head of Business Area and generally will run one or more projects with <£5M cost with up to 20 multi-disciplined engineers allocated. Projects and team sizes vary and you will receive support from senior managers, peers and the Project Management Office (PMO).
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
·To plan, specify and manage the production of bid submissions working with bid management and also maintain future opportunity/demand schedules. Work closely with and provide support to the sales & marketing department to capture targeted customer funded business in accordance with company forecasts and plans.
·Plan, specify and maintain the projects in line with the strategic plan/product roadmap ensuring benefits align, including Business Case generation.
·To create baseline and forecast plan and schedules, specify and manage resources across identified projects.
·To create a detailed Risk Assumptions Issues and Dependency (RAID) log for the project.
·Plan the projects and monitor their overall progress, manage risks, resolve issues and initiate corrective action as appropriate to ensure projects are executed within the agreed schedule, cost and performance, in a professional project management manner. Ensure that project deliverables are to the appropriate levels of quality, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the project plans.
·Enact projects following the L3Harris defined project management process, including customisation of projects using dependent on Project Tier level, following the Project Management Plan over the appropriate project lifecycles, and holding defined gate reviews.
·Produce project management reports in line with the defined internal cadence and process
·Where directed monitor the project using Earned Value Management (EVM) providing SPI and CPI values.
·Work to support commercial aspects of the project including change control and adherence to terms.
·Financial Management. Support the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) production of sales, invoicing and cash. To be accountable for revenue and gross margin achievement on standard orders/customer funded/IRAD projects, monitoring the expenditures and costs against delivered and realised benefits as the projects progress. Reporting financial data and forecasts on managed and other identified projects.
·Lead the customer interaction and customer relationship management for allocated projects.
·Manage the project stakeholder community, including where appropriate holding Integrated Project Team meetings with Operations, Suppliers, Finance and Customers
·Contribute to Produce Exec/Ops reports as requested.
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
·The role of a Project Manager requires the following experience and skills:
·Ideally 5 years of project management experience including schedule, scope, risk and opportunities, resource and financial management and reporting.
·Highly computer literate in MS Office and MS Project.
·Strong interpersonal skills combined with experience of leading teams and managing relationships with all levels of the business.
·Full project lifecycle experience including the practical and effective use of formal project and risk management tools and methodologies.
·Financial experience of reporting including sales revenue
