POSITION DESCRIPTION

The business analyst is responsible for providing data sources, analytics and visualization support.  In addition, the business analyst will help develop the team’s data analysis and visualization skills and collaborate with business users to define requirements for reports, business metrics, data visualizations and dashboards. The business analyst will help build data presentation and visualization capabilities across the organization  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Facilitate the collection and definition of requirements for new projects
• Transform business requirements into system, application, or process designs that align with current and future technologies, and data architectures

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to build reports and dashboards that are simple, effective and deliver meaningful data in an understandable way
• Translate complex reports and dashboards into simple and understandable terms
• Develop and enhance business tools to source, collect, analyze and visualize business data
• Provide guidance on relevant data science practices and their application to operational data
• Facilitate the development of customer knowledge resources and predictive analytics capabilities
• Evaluate data gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
• Conduct in-depth data analysis and deliver actionable recommendations based on the findings
• Develop ad-hoc reports as necessary
• Identify new data sources needed for the data warehouse
• Act as evangelist for BI benefits across the organization; promote BI usage to relevant functions
• Plan, execute, maintain and successfully deliver on assigned projects

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Experience and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and Project
• Advanced SQL skills and solid data warehousing knowledge

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Coding experience with C#, Visual Basic .NET, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS and DevExpress is a plus, but not required
• Experience using statistical analysis tools such as JMP, Minitab, R, SAS, Python, etc.
• Business intelligence data visualization experience using Power BI.
• SAP experience is a plus but not required
• SharePoint design experience is a plus, but not required
• Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to clearly explain technical topics to a non-technical audience
• Ability to professionally interface and communicate with personnel at all levels of the company, including senior management
