Job Description:

The L3Harris Communication Systems (CS) segment Tactical Communications sector (TCOM) is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented software engineer who will be a member of a cross functional team with hands on responsibility for all phases of the software development process from requirements definition through integration and testing of completed product.  Emphasis will be on Agile SW Development leadership roles such as a Scrum Master and Solution Owner across various projects and programs.  In addition, this role will also contribute to process and productivity goals for the TCOM SW Engineering organization. 

Requires the application of the principles and techniques Agile Scrum and DevOps-based software development.  Experience working in collaborative software design/development/test teams ranging in size from 10 to 40 engineers is desired.  Experience in engineering requirements analysis, development, testing is desired.

Essential Functions:

  • Prioritizes work items for the Scrum team(s) within the Solution team
  • Balancing requests from the Software Project Managers with the capacities of the Scrum teams, and for coordinating among the Software Project Manager
  • Maximizing a solution's value by prioritizing work among multiple releases (typically multiple products)
  • Working with the Lead Solution Engineer to allocate Solution Backlog items to specific Scrum teams
  • Responsible for coaching, teaching, and assisting the Scrum Team in understanding how Scrum works, facilitating Scrum Team ceremonies, and assessing the effectiveness of the team's Scrum practices and making adjustments as necessary
  • Escalate issues that need to be addressed outside of the team
  • Assess the effectiveness of the team's process and make adjustments with the team
  • Remove impediments from the team
  • Facilitate Scrum events
  • Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience in Software Engineering.
  • Certified Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)®
  • 7+ years experience in full development lifecycle for software projects

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with all phases of the software project development life cycle, including software analysis, design, development, testing (including software unit testing), and automation tools.
  • Experience in agile software development methodologies using an iterative, time-boxed development process (Scrum).
  • Highly motivated, a self starter, and able to operate with little supervision in diverse environments.
  • A successful track record in planning, executing, and tracking personal and team’s task assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in York State is $115,000 - $213,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
