Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking an Engineering Technician B to join our team. This person will contribute to the company’s success by supporting all aspects of the material handling processes for the Jefferson Road Operations Center. This role works effectively in a cross functional team environment and possesses the ability to be self-sufficient when responding to operational support requests or proactive duties. This role is responsible for successfully maintaining production equipment and tooling while also creating and managing work instructions used throughout the department.
Essential Functions:
- Support assembly and packaging processes for new and existing products
- Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems including assembly automation & PLCs
- Create and maintain process documentation and work instructions
- Perform preventative maintenance on selected assembly equipment
- Procure tooling and equipment/parts for production processes
- Work with engineers to develop and implement manufacturing engineering plans and projects
- Coordinate with various disciplines and shifts to identify and implement process improvements
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years prior experience, 2 year post-secondary/AA Degree and 0-2 years prior experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Understanding of manufacturing systems, production processes, technical standards, and assembly equipment
- Verbal and written communication skills including experience with MS Office products like Word and Excel
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles like 5S, error proofing, standard work, and quick changeover
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $42,000-$78,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
