Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Customer Event Manager to join our marketing team. This role is pivotal in creating memorable and impactful experiences that foster customer loyalty, engagement, and advocacy. This position will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and execution of all customer-facing events, with a particular focus on products and technologies for defense and public safety customers. The ideal candidate is a creative strategist, a meticulous planner, and a natural relationship builder with a passion for bringing people together.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and execute an annual customer event strategy that aligns with company, sector, segment, and corporate goals and campaigns.
 - Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to create compelling environments, product demos, and memorable experiences targeted to specific markets.
 - Create and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure all milestones and financial targets are met.
 - Ensure alignment with company marketing communications policies and brand standards in all event activities.
 - Oversee event marketing and communications, including invitation distribution, attendee registration, and promotional campaigns.
 - Manage the attendee experience from pre-registration through post-event follow-up, ensuring engaging and high-quality interactions.
 - Source, select, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, overseeing booth design, construction, and event services to ensure a professional and impactful presentation.
 - Develop and manage event budgets, prioritizing cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards in branding and attendee engagement while reconciling expenses.
 - Willing and able to travel up to 30%-40% of the year, including some weekends and international trips.
 - Provide leadership and on-site management during setup, event days, and teardown to ensure events run smoothly.
 - Train and prepare on-site staff to ensure they effectively represent the company and communicate our value proposition.
 - Collect attendee feedback, leads, and performance data to assess the effectiveness and ROI of event participation.
 - Prepare detailed post-event reports, providing insights on successes and recommended improvements for future events.
 - Plan and coordinate logistics for company participation in industry trade shows, including booth registration, shipping, setup/dismantling, and staff scheduling.
 - Work with creative teams to design and produce engaging booth experiences, signage, and marketing collateral.
 - Comfortable moving to 30 lbs. when necessary, such as boxes of collateral or equipment for shipping.
 - Comfortable remaining in stationary positions are long periods at onsite events.
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with 6 years prior experience, Graduate Degree with 4 years prior experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
 
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Corporate event and/or trade show experience in the communications or defense/government sectors.
 - Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is a plus.
 - A passion for the latest trends in trade show and event management.
 - Knowledge of revenue and lead generation strategies to promote new product technology releases and re-energize products in the prime of their selling cycle.
 - Experience with event management platforms and expense reporting software.
 
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is$71,500 - $132,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
