Job Description:
L3Harris Space Systems in Palm Bay, FL is an industry leader in the design and production of space-based payloads and satellites for RF missions.  We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Production Planner to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining master production schedules, ensuring alignment with material requirements planning (MRP) and integrated master schedules (IMS), and optimizing workflow to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires a deep understanding of production processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:
•    Develop and Maintain Master Production Schedules: Create and manage comprehensive master production schedules to ensure timely and efficient production operations, including the establishment and updating of manufacturing day calendars.
•    Oversee Shared Area Schedules: Own and maintain shared area master production schedules, resolving resource utilization conflicts to ensure smooth operations.
•    Calculate Takt Time and Optimize Workflow: Determine takt time and balance workflow to maximize production efficiency and effectiveness.
•    Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with manufacturing, production planning, material management, industrial engineering, project engineering, and program management to ensure alignment of the master production schedule (MPS) with material requirements planning (MRP) and integrated master schedules (IMS).
•    Develop and Implement Recovery Plans: Create high-quality recovery plans and schedules to address deviations and ensure adherence to the MPS.
•    Lead Schedule Review Board (SRB) Meetings: Prepare analysis and presentation materials, lead SRB meetings, and track the incorporation of approved updates.
•    Monitor Performance and Update KPIs: Track performance against the master production schedule and update key performance indicators (KPIs) accordingly.
•    Identify Program Dependencies and Risks: Incorporate program dependencies, milestone risks, long lead time material risks, and other factors that could impact schedules.
•    Understand Production and Test Flow: Maintain a high-level of understanding of production and test flow, processes, previous production insights, recovery actions, batching parameters, and more.
•    Incorporate Development and First-Time Build Requirements: Understand specific requirements for development and first-time builds, including control build strategy/quantities, first article inspections, schedule flow, lead time impacts, and schedule margins and buffers to maintain schedule integrity.

Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of prior related production planning, master scheduling, project management experience, or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:
•    Proven experience as a Master Production Planner/scheduler or in a similar role with day-to-day involvement in a manufacturing environment.
•    Strong understanding of production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and integrated master schedules (IMS).
•    Active Security Clearance (Secret or Top Secret)
•    Degree in industrial engineering or a related field.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Proficiency in production planning/scheduling software and tools. (e.g. MS Project)
•    High proficiency level in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, data analysis, pivot tables, and complex formula creation
•    Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
•    Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
•    Proficiency in data visualization platforms (e.g. PowerBI)
•    Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
