About your next Challenge as a Senior Product Engineer:

Working as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team including hardware, software and systems engineering, the candidate will be responsible for product development of modern integrated naval and marine communication systems.The candidate will be expected to become a subject matter expert in one or more products and contribute to product development strategies and plans.Key success criteria for this role will include achieving product development milestones, delivering on-time and on-budget to projects, and supporting successful proposals and future sales by providing technical inputs.

What will you do: 

• Become a subject matter expert in one or more products
• Develop plans and set objectives for product development
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including product specifications, design documents and manufacturing documentation
• Coordinate hardware, software, and systems engineering activities
• Consult with customers, user groups, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to solicit and incorporate feedback into product development plans
• Manage budget and resources allocated for product development
• Contribute to the technical volumes for new bids and proposals
• Contribute to process improvements related to product engineering

Required Skills and Experiences:

• Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or any other related field) Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of systems engineering processes
• Extensive knowledge of voice and data communications pertinent to the defence sector
• Experience working in the defence sector
  
• Experience working in naval or marine environments
• Broad knowledge of project management
• Control account management
• Product engineering experience involving both hardware and software development 
  Preferred additional skills, education and certifications:
• Strong knowledge of the job area, such as having a specialty within the field of integrated communications

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

·Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;

·Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

·Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
