Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to guide a multi-disciplinary engineering organization focused on air traffic management communication network systems. This role requires strong organizational leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with program leadership, technical teams, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders. The successful candidate will drive engineering excellence, disciplined execution, workforce planning, budgeting and continuous improvement across programs and engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the strategic vision for the engineering organization.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and execution discipline.
- Partner with Program Managers and Technical teams to align engineering plans, staffing, priorities, and execution with customer requirements, budgets, and schedules.
- Serve as a trusted engineering partner supporting planning, execution, risk management, issue resolution, and customer engagement.
- Lead engineering resource planning and workforce allocation across programs and initiatives.
- Drive initiatives to improve engineering productivity, quality, reuse, affordability, and organizational performance.
- Ensure disciplined engineering processes, technical governance, and review rigor across programs and capture activities.
- Present execution status, technical and organizational priorities to executive leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
- Develop engineering leaders and staff through mentorship, coaching, performance management, and career development.
- Attract, retain, and grow engineering talent while promoting an inclusive, transparent, and innovative culture.
- Lead engineering contributions to bids and proposals, including technical and cost baseline reviews, staffing strategy, and execution planning.
- Partner with business development and cross-functional leaders to support growth and align future engineering capabilities.
- Promote proactive risk management, metrics-based decision-making, and strong technical governance.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, or
- Masters degree in STEM field with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or
- 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience with large scale Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) systems.
- Relevant certifications in engineering or program leadership
- Strong team organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Experience with leading large-scale system integration and cross-functional engineering coordination
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information to internal and external audiences
