About your next Challenge as a Associate Manager, Electric, Instrumentation and Control Systems Simulation :

This position has a significant visibility with Senior Management, Business Development,  Bids and Proposals, Program Management, and customers.

What will you do:

  • Manage a team of experienced professionals (software modelers) working on Nuclear Power Plant simulators, ensuring that all technical requirements are understood, captured, tracked, and assigned to the proper personnel or subcontractors for optimal execution strategy.
  • Lead your team in a dynamic engineering environment across a diverse set of technical areas, including but not limited to requirements analysis and management, software modeling, subcontract technical management, Integration/testing, etc.
  • Actively participate as a software modeler on projects to optimize manloading and use of resources.
  • Assume responsibility for projects assigned to your organizational unit. Through your participation in the review of all key program milestones, lead and influence the program’s technical development and help ensure the technical integrity from the system in accordance with the company's policies, priorities and budget targets
  • Critical tasks include deliverables progress and completion monitoring, bids and proposals oversight, strategic planning including annual operating plans, departmental goals setting.
  • Collaborate on optimal growth with Senior Management, Business Development, and Program Management
  • Act as an advisor to your staff to ensure that deadlines are met and that technical or operational constraints are resolved
  • Coordinating work with other supervisors and staff.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting is maintained throughout the project. Participate in the preparation of status report, and regularly monitors budgets and schedules as required.
  • Influence the smooth running of programs and projects through continuous improvement and accountability for quality, analysis of measures in place, such as the review of estimation criteria and the monitoring of technical performance indicators
  • Champion new concepts or technologies, manage the implementation of functional strategies and recommend operational plans that directly affect the short- to mid-term function or business area results and will contribute in a tangible way to the results of the activities of your department
  • Hiring, supervising, and mentoring staff, ensuring the selection, development, training, and competence of staff so as to meet project departmental and divisional strategic objectives, while meeting functional requirements for engagement, retention, and overall service management
  • Manage or prepare budgets allocated to your activities and department, particularly concerning operational needs, training and the acquisition of equipment and materials
  • Generates and/or reviews test plans and coordinates with the Customer to ensure that they meet requirements and properly test the features.
  • Participate in Bids and Proposals by providing and/or validating estimates, and providing proposal document
  • Conduct and prepare presentations and demonstrations when required.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Strong self-directed technical leader with excellent interpersonal and influence skills, excellent verbal and written communication, as well as presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field (or equivalent) and a minimum of 8 years of simulation modeling experience in the Nuclear Power Plant domain
  • At least 5 years of experience in simulation of Electric and I&C models
  • Strong knowledge of different control systems
  • Experience interfacing with senior management, peers, employees, and subcontractors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a strong technical presence, with the aptitude to develop and execute a strategy
  • Organizational skills for keeping track of various budgets, employees, and schedules simultaneously
  • Broad understanding of software modeling nuclear power plant processes with a proven ability to provide technical leadership and guidance to the discipline areas
  • Excellent technical communication of ideas and design
  • Able to work independently and in a team based environment
  • Excellent team building skills; know how to integrate well within several specialties and organizations
  • Capable of multitasking between 2 or more projects concurrently
  • Bilingualism (French, English)
  • Strong English written and spoken skills


Assets

  • Experience with L3Harris MAPPS Orchid® Tools suite is a definite asset
  • Experience in technical management, directing and administering the development of the full life cycle, including the preparation of performance evaluations, staff allocation, the supervision of software processes and career development, and supporting multiple projects.
  • General knowledge of the ISO 9001:2015 process and NRC 10 CFR Nuclear Safety standards, etc.

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
