Essential Functions:

The Manager, Commercial Aircraft Maintenance Operations (CRJ 900) will ensure coordination, planning, financial tracking and efficient execution of maintenance activities to ensure regulatory compliance and continued availability of aircraft.

Maintenance planning:

Organize and coordinate inspections, repairs and preventive or corrective interventions according to operational needs, regulatory requirements and quality standards provided for in the SMS.

Operational monitoring of aircraft:

Monitor the status of the fleet (MEL/CDL, snags, reports, deviations), prioritize maintenance actions, assess risks that may affect flight safety according to SMS practices, communicate operational impacts and ensure rapid resolution of anomalies.

Management and supervision:

Supervise the technical teams, validate the tasks performed, ensure compliance with procedures, flight safety standards, SMS/SMS quality and compliance requirements, as well as aircraft delivery schedules.

Document management:

Verify the compliance, accuracy and quality of technical and operational documentation (work orders, maintenance reports, AMM, IPC, SRM, etc.)

Interdepartmental coordination:

Collaborate with operations, engineering, logistics, suppliers and external partners to optimize interventions, reduce downtime and maintain a high level of quality.

Management of parts and material:

Follow up with the material management team on the parts, equipment and tools needed for planned and unplanned work.

Financial and budget monitoring:

Track maintenance costs, analyse deviations from budget, optimise resource utilisation and produce regular financial reports, integrating relevant quality and safety requirements into decisions.

Deadlines monitoring:

Develop, maintain and adjust maintenance schedules; monitor the progress of work; identify risks of delay, non-compliance or impact on flight safety, implement the necessary corrective measures.

Quality, flight safety and compliance (SGS/SMS):

Apply and support the Safety Management System (SMS) in all maintenance activities;

Participate in internal and external audits, technical investigations, risk analyses and security reviews;

Document and process safety reports (hazards, incidents, quasi-events);

Foster a proactive culture of safety, quality and compliance.

Continuous improvement:

Support continuous improvement initiatives, participate in the improvement of SMS/SMS processes, contribute to cost reduction, decrease downtime and improve overall performance.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or relevant technical diploma;
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in aeronautical maintenance or technical management;
  • Rigor, autonomy and sense of organization;
  • Quality, safety and regulatory compliance orientation;
  • Ability to analyze costs, plan resources and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong knowledge of aviation regulations (FAA, EASA, Transport Canada, etc.);
  • Good understanding of the safety management system (SMS) in aeronautical maintenance;
  • Excellent understanding of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures
  • Mastery of maintenance management tools (SAP, SkyTrak, etc.);
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and pressurized environment;
  • Skills in financial analysis and budget management;
  • Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
