Are you a motivated individual looking to advance your career in a dynamic and innovative environment? L3Harris is seeking a Network Planning Engineer to support the FAA/FTI program. In this role, you will play a crucial part in evaluating, planning, and implementing cutting-edge telecommunications network designs tailored to FAA mission-critical needs. You will be at the forefront of replacing legacy copper-based systems with advanced technologies, creating scalable and optimized telco architectures, and documenting solutions that support engineering and NOC operations. Collaborate with internal and external teams, work independently on high-impact projects, and lead proof-of-concept efforts for emerging services.

Essential Functions:

• Assess telecommunications technologies and design solutions to ensure alignment with the FAA/FTI network’s critical infrastructure and service requirements.
• Architect and engineer next-generation telco services to replace legacy copper-based solutions with modern, scalable alternatives.
• Deliver tailored network implementations that meet dynamic customer requirements and long-term strategic objectives.
• Establish and apply best practices in network design, capacity planning, and service continuity to support mission-critical operations.
• Oversee the telco design release lifecycle to ensure timely execution and alignment with program milestones.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• WAN Telecommunications networking experience.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Ability to obtain security clearance.
• Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures.
• Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes.
• Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv.
