Job Description:
L3Harris Space Systems Sector within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment has an opening for a Specialist, Integration & Test Engineer. This position will be on-site in Palm Bay/Melbourne, Fl. The System Integration & Test Engineer candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing automated test procedures, training operators on system usage, and providing support for customer testing. The role will include occasional direct support to Programs and Customers (internal & external) to ensure test execution activities for existing portfolio programs and support to future pursuits. This role demands a candidate who is adept at technical problem-solving, has strong communication skills, and can effectively prioritize tasks in a dynamic operational environment. The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting. This position will support test effort through the product life cycle activities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive system test plans and use cases, as well as providing ongoing support.
- Develop and oversee the creation and execution of automated test procedures.
- Identify, record, thoroughly document, and track issues through to resolution.
- Debug user-facing GUIs using representative operational data.
- Acquire and maintain in-depth expertise on the current system and its operational use.
- Analyze test results, detect issues, and collaborate with the development team to track root causes.
- Train operators on system usage and provide support for customer testing.
- Effectively prioritize work tasks based on operational requirements.
- Provide multi-IPT support and facilitate communication between Software, Systems, and Test groups.
- Work extended and weekend hours during SI&T phases of the program.
- Support the technical SI&T lead in day-to-day activities during ground hardware and software integration and verification.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- 2+ years of experience of System Integration and Test (SI&T).
- 2+ years of automation experience.
- 2+ years of Linux and Windows systems.
- Security+ certification.
- Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Prior experience in automating software GUIs.
- Familiarity with Eggplant and other automation tools, including proficiency in PowerShell scripting and markup languages.
- Experience with automation and scripting languages (e.g. Java, Python, Perl, Visual Studio code)
- Experience with Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence.
- Experience using source control tools.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams (systems, program management, software, quality) through all phases of a program (concept, proposals, SRR, PDR/CDR, final sell-off)
- Proficiency with MS Project, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment.
- Team player, able to work in a large program and fast-paced environment.
