Job Description:
Responsible for performing inspections, tests, analyses and/or audits of highly complex developmental products or processes to include microelectronics, precision mechanical, software, test equipment and fully integrated systems to ensure quality standards and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Assists in development and inspection of complex rework and repair of deliverable subassemblies and large system level integrated platforms. Approves production records for conformance to procedures. Responsible for ensuring safety, reliability and hardware traceability for end-item systems and mission solutions through production quality oversight. Collaborate with quality engineers in developing inspection requirements and techniques and implementing quality plans. Assists in evaluating defect data to identify trends and collaborates with quality engineers to make recommendations on process improvements. Routinely interfaces with customer representatives.
Essential Functions:
- Performs inspections of complex Circuit Card Assemblies, Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, computer equipment chassis and racks
- Performs in-process inspection and acceptance of repaired and reworked products
- Requires the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and bills of materials
- Familiarity with Product Data Management systems such as Agile is required
- Performs Final Inspection of equipment, test records and stages for customer inspection and support for shipment of equipment to Customer sites
- Requires the ability to communicate and interface with the Customer Quality Reliability Officers (Inspectors) on a daily or weekly basis, as required, to present finished goods, test results, and obtain Customer acceptance
- Performs Configuration Downtrace Audits of complete lab systems, seals equipment racks, prepares Test Logs
- Supports Test Witness activities during Acceptance Testing Dry runs and Formal Test Activities
- Provides support to receiving inspection of Equipment and Parts procurements
- Monitor Test Equipment certification/calibration requirements to ensure Test Equipment remains compliant.
- Requires attention to detail and good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to obtain a Public Trust
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑secondary/Associate’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of ISO9001, AS9100, or other equivalent ANSI standards.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and 6S processes.
