Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead multi-functional teams in the execution of Tactical Missions Division New Product Development and New Product Introduction efforts with responsibility for leading portfolios within assigned area. The Product Manager is responsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of assigned efforts by leading teams including Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Quality, and others. Product Managers are expected to demonstrate team building, leadership, and communication skills by building relationships of trust with their teams, customers, peers, and leadership as well as effectively communicate with confidence including regular presentations and status updates to leadership. This role aims to foster mutual understanding and elevate proficiency in compliance procedures and best practices thus bolstering overall execution performance.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for managing and driving key performance indicators of cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements of complex technical projects through the life-cycle phases of development, new product introduction, and transitioning to production to meet and exceed revenue and profit objectives
• Develop and deliver Project Execution and Earned Value Management (EVM) industry Best Practices
• Execute resource plan to include Internal Research and Development and New Product Introduction budgets, key staffing coordination across multiple projects, and capital needs
• Responsible for budget management and financial execution of individual projects and overall portfolio
• Responsible for managing a collaborative work environment with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives
• Lead program review sessions with senior leadership to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance as well as resource needs
• Serve as the EVM focal point between technical, cost, schedule, and project teams
• Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
• Identify problems and obtain solutions such as allocating resources or updating project scope
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management and/or Project/Project Management concepts
• Extensive experience with risk, opportunities, issues and change management
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret or higher clearance
• Experience with international business and trade compliance
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with senior stakeholders across various functions
• Ability to influence decision-making processes by presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to senior stakeholders
• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and new challenges
• Comfortable operating in a "managed chaos" setting with ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias towards action, taking initiative, and driving towards results
• Self-motivated, self-starter who can hit the ground running with minimal oversight
• Able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously
