Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Automated Test Lead to drive the planning, development, implementation, and execution of automated testing strategies for a combined MES-PLM-ERP deployment. This role is critical in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of our enterprise applications and integrations.

As the Automated Test Lead, you will be responsible for leading the creation and maintenance of automated test frameworks and scripts, ensuring they cover all testing lifecycle aspects, including functional, performance, reliability, and security testing. You will manage automated testing activities across multiple projects, coordinating with developers, product managers, and business analysts, and ensuring that automated tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline.

In addition to your strong technical expertise in automated testing configuration, script creation, and validation logic, you will bring the leadership skills necessary to guide and mentor a team of junior members. You will collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment and ensure that all testing practices comply with industry standards and organizational policies.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop Automated Test Plans: Create comprehensive automated test plans and strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
  • Design and Develop Test Frameworks and Scripts: Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks and scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks. Ensure test cases and test data strategies are reusable, modular, and maintainable.
  • Configure and Manage Test Environments: Configure automated test environments and manage the test execution lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with developers, product managers, business analysts, and QA teams to understand testing requirements and ensure test coverage.
  • Monitor and Report Progress: Track test progress, report on test execution, and identify issues or bottlenecks. Participate in defect triage, root cause analysis, and quality metrics reporting.
  • Align and Document Testing Strategies: Document key decisions to align interim states with future system implementations, ensuring integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
  • Review and Validate Test Scripts: Regularly review and update automated test scripts for accuracy and maintainability. Validate application functionality through robust logic and rule-based testing approaches.
  • Define Testing KPIs: Identify and define key performance indicators to track automated testing performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and Guide Team Members: Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members and automation engineers. Establish best practices and standards for automated testing across projects.
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Ensure that testing practices comply with industry standards, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support UAT and Regression Testing: Coordinate with stakeholders to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing efforts.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing software, including test case design, test step creation, and test data management.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Shift-left).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools and version control systems (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
  • Proficient with Tricentis Tosca or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Automated testing certification (e.g., ISTQB or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, QTP, JUnit, TestNG, Microsoft Playwright, and JMeter.
  • Experience with enterprise applications testing (e.g., ERP, MES, PLM) and exposure to performance and API testing.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and test automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of SQL for backend data validation.
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Experience with CI/CD processes and tools.
  • Experience with Tricentis Tosca or similar testing tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Current or ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $99,500-$184,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $114,000-$212,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
