Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Associate, Network Planning Engineer, supporting Geostationary Ground System Sustainment (GGSS) key element providing critical service to NOAA. The selected candidate will be working on multiple program initiatives for L3Harris as the primary contractor. The selected candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams. Independently manage project ownership, which includes GGSS deployment and sustainment efforts of NOAA and GGSS ground network.

Essential Functions:

  • Support implementation staff review of Problem Tracking Record (PTR) & design artifacts.
  • Work with collaborative team resolving design discrepancies with minimal direction.
  • Interpret engineering designs, obtaining relevant data to build system port paths.
  • Perform tasks with network tools (fundamental understanding of Wire Shark, SNMP traps, TCPDumps, etc.).
  • Implement routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, ISIS and BGP).
  • Implement LAN switching (Spanning tree, 802.1q, ISL, VTP, bridging concepts, etc.).
  • Develop engineering drawings and technical procedures.

Qualifications: 

  • To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in or have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

  • Ability to obtain a NOAA Public Trust
  • CCNA or Juniper Certification or willingness to acquire within next 12 months
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8140.03 certification, or equivalent NIST 800-181 certification within 12 months of hire.
