Job Description:
The Sr Specialist, Systems Engineer (Test Director) position is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communications platforms.
Essential Functions:
- Manage Ground and Flight Test programs for Special Mission Aircraft.
- Complete bid proposal as required to satisfy the contract requirements for the Test Director (TD) position.
- Work closely with Systems Engineering Lead to develop the necessary test requirements and support (personnel, equipment, etc.) that will be necessary to execute the test program.
- Review Statements of Work (SOW), Specifications, and Contractor Data Requirements List (CDRL) verify that the test requirements, support requirements, and data requirements are consistent with those defined in the proposal stage.
- Work with Systems Lead to ensure all Test and Demonstration requirements can be traced to completed artifacts.
- Develop Master Test Plans.
- Review and release program test procedures to ensure all Test and Demonstration requirements are sufficiently accounted by the Verification Cross Reference Index (VCRI).
- Prepare and delivery contract required Test Readiness Review (TRR).
- Execute Ground and Flight Test Plans.
- Document and Report Test results.
- Physical architecture incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains.
- Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning.
- Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.
- Understand requirement traceability.
- Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to non-technical professionals.
- Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware.
- Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support.
- RF distribution systems to include RF down-converting, up-converting, transceivers, non-blocking switching, and electrically matched distribution architectures.
- Agile, and Model-based systems engineering and simulation experience.
- Troubleshooting and multi-level testing for RF applications.
- Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose.
- Knowledge of the systems engineering trade study process.
- Writing subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.
- Conducting verification testing.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation communications skills.
- Working with subcontractors and US Government customers.
- Developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret DoD clearance with SCI.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with six (6) years of hands-on experience with testing, integration, and verifying software and/or hardware.
- Master’s Degree with four (4) years of hands-on experience with testing, integration, and verifying software and/or hardware.
- In lieu of a degree a minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on experience with testing, integration, and verifying software and/or hardware.
- Ability to successfully pass FAA Class III Flight Physical within the first six months of employment.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Preferred Additional Skills:
·Security+ Professional Certification.
