Job Description:

L3Harris is currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join our team. This position will be based at our Greenville, TX facility and offers a 9/80 schedule.

Essential Functions:

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application  

• Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system 

• Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment 

• Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation  

• Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results 

• Participate in peer reviews, identify, track and repair defects 

• Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and/or embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Existing DoD Secret or higher Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated experience in Design Patterns and Frameworks.
• Demonstrated familiarization with virtualization, containerization, and hybrid computing environments.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Agile methodology
• Demonstrated experience in SQL/NoSQL database design and queries.
• Demonstrated software and hardware troubleshooting background.
• Demonstrated familiarity with ISR Systems.
• Demonstrated experience with software automated test tools and frameworks.
• Demonstrated multi-threaded, parallel, and/or GPU programming background.
• Demonstrated experience with Google Protocol Buffers and network socket programming
