Job Description:
This is a hands-on manufacturing position and requires knowledge in aerospace assembly and production. The candidate in this role will be responsible for supporting the design, documentation, requirements management, integration, troubleshooting and/or testing analysis of electronic, mechanical and/or software devices, products, and systems. They will work with development, manufacturing and test engineers to support and recommend resolutions, understand and apply applicable engineering processes, and develop plans and schedules for short-term work activities. The individual in this role will interface with engineering teams and elevates significant problems to appropriate management. A successful candidate may build customer intimacy through job assignments related system/product acceptance testing or hands-on user training.
Essential Functions:
- Drive compliance to safety and quality requirements.
 - Support development and compliance to process standard work and work instructions
 - Lead compliance to project / factory schedules, costs and durations
 - Conduct production floor layout planning for upcoming projects
 - Provide schedule and budget status to internal customers
 - Create manufacturing processes, work instructions and measurement plans.
 - Create Nonconformance reports and dispositions
 - Oversee and provide support for cable and mechanical assembly
 - Provide leadership and mentoring for 15 to 20 employees
 - Conduct 1 on 1 career counseling and performance discussions
 - Create and deliver mid-year and year end performance reviews for up to 20 employees
 - Lead department initiatives to improve production, increase safety and promote employee engagement
 - Work with human resources to handle employee relations and corrective action measures
 - Role may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
 - Work performed in a clean, climate-controlled inspection area.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum 6 years prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
 - Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
 
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Minimum 6-year experience in assembly and test or manufacturing.
 - Management and supervisory experience leading work teams.
 - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
 - Strong communication skills and ability to document and report findings clearly.
 - Ability to lift and move components and inspection fixtures up to 35 pounds
 - 6 years of experience with manufacturing of space qualified hardware
 - Strong sense of responsibility, ownership, and follow-through
 - Be a team player, pro-active, and customer oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal
 - Ability to apply lean manufacturing concepts to drive continuous improvement
 - Possess a high level of initiative and willingness to learn
 - Exceptional organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
 - Experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, Word
