Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager (Level 6) to join contracts organization. This role requires a recognized expert and thought leader who will manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization.

Essential Functions:

The Senior Manager will work under consultative direction against annual goals to lead initiatives that directly impact overall business and functional results. This position requires an individual who can communicate and influence leadership across the organization to address new practices, approaches, and concepts while developing or championing new systems, concepts, or technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction
  • Establish educational and training goals for contracts areas of expertise and ensure those goals are achieved
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to employees across the Company within area of expertise
  • Lead large cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives

Strategic Impact

  • Recommend tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results
  • Recommend new products, processes, policies, standards, or operating plans in support of job function strategy
  • Make significant improvements in contracts, systems, or products
  • Provide input into new contracts/processes and implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results

Communication & Influence

  • Communicate within and outside of the organization, including with larger customers
  • Influence others to accept team's views/practices and agree to new concepts, practices, and approaches
  • Communicate and influence leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business area
  • Conduct briefings to senior leaders and customers
  • Serve as an internal expert and thought leader in contracts with broad experience across multiple job areas

Innovation & Problem Solving

  • Develop or champion new concepts or technologies
  • Conduct extensive investigation to understand root cause of problems
  • Improve upon existing processes or establish new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation
  • Develop innovative solutions that span a wide range of difficult and unique issues across the function and/or business area

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience, OR In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Viewed as an expert and/or resource within the field by peers in and outside the organization
  • In-depth knowledge of contracts and knowledge of project management preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to conduct effective briefings to senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated history of successful difficult and strategic negotiations
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and external partners on matters of substantial importance
  • Experience negotiating with major customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders on strategic initiatives

Work Environment

This position works under consultative direction with minimal oversight, requiring independent judgment and strategic thinking to achieve annual goals and objectives that align with organizational strategy.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, 
Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $130,500 -
$242,500. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New 
York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $113,500- $210,500. This is not a guarantee of 
compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to 
experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and 
disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, 
paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee 
may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining 
agreements.
