From 11 UK sites, our team of nearly 1,000 people delivers unique capabilities across space, air, land, sea and cyber for military, security and commercial customers across the UK and worldwide.
L3Harris in Bristol is our headquarters for our Maritime UK businesses which provides warship automation systems through control and simulation solutions that are in service on Albion Class Landing Platform Docks and Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers. More systems are being developed and delivered for Type 26 and Type 31 frigates. We have additional Maritime UK sites across Burgess Hill, Barrow-In-Furness and Portchester. Together, we are powering the Royal Navy’s adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers.
This role is expected to provide support to the team including critical thinking and management support with strong assessment of risks, opportunities and actions needed to achieve business plans.

What the role will involve
The responsibilities of your role will include the following:
- Oversight of the understanding and production of the monthly project accounts, forecasts and annual budgets.
- Assist the Finance Director in pulling together the monthly reporting, highlighting key performance trends and variances from plan.
- Ensuring baseline development and maintenance of estimate at complete development
- Implement, monitor, report and analyse business program performance
- Interpret and recommend action based on Earned Value outputs from program teams
- Organise and hold pre-reviews for monthly program PMR and EAC reviews with SLT
- Ensure funding plans for labour and subcontract / material / ODC forecast are robust and complete through analysis with the program finance and program management teams
- In conjunction with FP&A, complete and analyse data for monthly forecast review including orders, sales, operating income and cash and present to the Finance Director
- In conjunction with FP&A, pull together the weekly pacing deck and review with the Finance Director prior to the weekly meeting
- Participate in presentations and group discussions at internal and external financial / schedule meetings
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the organisation to maintain a positive and productive work environment
What you’ll bring
The role requires the following experience and skills:
- Qualified accountant with recognised accountancy qualification
- Substantial prior related experience in a senior Finance Business partnering post
- Strong understanding of the EAC process with proven ability to challenge and dissect program schedules and milestones to ensure robustness of actuals and forecast.
- In depth knowledge and experience in commercial/project finance principles, concepts, practices and standards
- Experience of managing and developing a team
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Advance MS Office Suite skills include excel modelling; PowerBI/Power query experience desirable
