L3Harris’ Bristol location is the headquarters for our Maritime UK business – a leading global supplier of integrated marine control systems and simulation products for warships, submarines and high-end commercial marine vessels worldwide. Since its inception, L3Harris has continuously iterated upon our Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) technology and successfully exported and delivered the system to over 300 vessels across 27 navies worldwide. We also have locations across Barrow-In-Furness, Portchester and Burgess Hill. Together, we are powering the Royal Navy’s adoption of autonomous surface vehicle technology as well as delivering autonomous capability to UK ports, harbours and offshore energy service providers.

L3Harris provides advanced control and simulation solutions for warship automation systems across the Albion-class landing platform docks and Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers. More systems are being developed and delivered for Type 26 and Type 31 frigates.
Redefining the Way the World Works at Sea
The L3Harris team in Bristol is proud to support our maritime partners in Australia through a new contract aimed at optimising the Hunter-class frigates for anti-submarine warfare.
The IPMS, developed in Bristol, was initially designed for the United Kingdom's Type 26 frigates as part of the Global Combat Ship program. It will now be adapted to fulfil the specific requirements of the Royal Australian Navy.
