Job Description:
The Director of Business Development will lead business development activities within the Airborne Combat Systems sector of the Space and Airborne Systems Segment. The focus of this position is mission systems and weapons systems pursuits bringing L3Harris Enterprise capabilities to Prime Mission System and Platform opportunities. This includes directing and leading customer interactions, strategy development, business development, market assessments, business case development, business capture, capture gating process, pipeline growth, business account management including S&M and B&P budgets, CRM management, and development of 1-yr, 3-yr and 5-yr business plans.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, refine and update business cases.
- Manage capture gating process including chairing gate conferences for executive leadership.
- Develop product and services capture plans, lead capture activities.
- Develop capture win strategies.
- Develop, maintain and leverage existing relationships with key customers, decision makers, and acquisition officials.
- Form relationships with new customers and industry partners, paving the way for L3Harris capability insertion in new markets
- Develop and maintain competitive intelligence and competitive landscape understanding to inform business development and capture efforts.
- Prepare and deliver written and oral briefs to customers and senior executives.
- Manage CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database for cross-segment pursuits.
- Develop strategic plans to advance business area objectives and promote revenue and profitability.
- Lead, develop, and implement strategies for generating new customers in both domestic and international markets.
- Lead CONOPS development and briefings in support of programs.
- Evaluate new technologies while staying current on industry trends through a warfighter perspective.
- Provide warfighter perspective and subject matter expertise internally and externally to support program success, capture new programs, and expand business pipeline.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior experience.
- 8+ years of experience in tactical aviation
- CONOPS development
- Tactical aircraft Pilot, Weapons System Operator, Electronic Warfare Officer (or equivalent)
- Tactical aircraft weapons SME
- Tactical aircraft mission employment SME
- Threat aircraft, IADs, and tactics SME
- Ability to generate and deliver articulate and persuasive briefings
- Aptitude to clearly communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Prior leadership and mentoring experience
- Experience in budget management
- Excellent people skills with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment (cross functional team member).
- Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
Preferred Additional Skills:
- USN, USMC or USAF Weapons School or Test Pilot School Graduate
- Military Officer (05 or above)
- Unmanned Aircraft experience
- 5th Generation Aircraft experience
- Tactical weapons experience (ie AIM-120, AIM-9, AARGM)
- EW (Electronic Warfare) combat systems experience
- Acquisitions experience (ie requirements, Program Office)

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $210,000 - $266,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
