Job Description:
The Quality Specialist for Nondestructive Inspection will be responsible for inspection on aircraft structure, components, and modifications. These tasks will require the ability to work independently and may require supporting off-shift or off-site on an as needed basis.
Essential Functions:
- Requires strong knowledge of Nondestructive Inspection
- Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results
- Be thouroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method
- Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with applicable process standard
- Ability to understand the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the method as used by employer
- Be capable of developing work instructions from approved general procedures
- Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology
- Have a basic knowledge of aircraft maintenance
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of prior related experience.
- Certifiable to Level 2 in four or more methods of NDI per NAS410 plus added responsibilities or other national certifications or licenses
- Be able to obtain active Secret Clearance after employment
- Provide documented evidence of meeting NAS410 qualification requirements for Level 2 certification, prior to employment
Additional Skills:
- Meet qualification requirements for certification to NAS410 Level 2
- Must have experience in Nondestructive Testing training and experience in meeting NAS410 requirements
- Experience with Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Penetrant, Ultrasonic and Radiography
- A&P License
- Be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well in a team environment
- Must possess computer skills and be well organized
