Job Description:

L3Harris is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented Senior Orbital Analyst (OA) with subject matter expertise in Space Domain Awareness to lead our dynamic orbital analyst's teams spanning multiple locations.  The selected candidate will take on a key MOSSAIC C2 Enterprise OA Lead role for a program that is building a large-scale enterprise throughout the national security space domain. The selected candidate will also provide technical leadership to the team who is performing analysis with cutting-edge software tools, modeling, and simulation. The MOSSAIC C2 Enterprise OA Lead will guide orbital analysts at multiple geographically separated locations, program leadership, and the customers by aligning development needs with the mission, customer expectations, and requirements.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provide technical direction to orbital analyst by creating scenarios, exercises, and analysis tools to support national security space analysis activities.
  • Lead technical planning, design & generation of test data, system integration, verification and validation, and support test activities.
  • Provide leadership and foster collaboration with orbital analysts from various space disciplines to determine and develop functional and non-functional requirements of new and existing capabilities.
  • Providing technical guidance and assisting the development team throughout the orbital analyst growth cycle.
  • Responsible for Customer interfacing to ensure inputs and needs are communicated to the program managers on programmatic and technical deliverables.
  • Leads technical exchanges and interactions with customers.
  • Performs additional leadership duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • Active TS/SCI w/CI Poly
  • BS degree in Space Science with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience; or Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.   
  • 6+ years of Orbit Analysis experience performing Manual Differential Corrections.
  • 2+ years of experience working on Space Defense Operations Center, CAVEnet, and Astrodynamics Support Workstation systems.
  • Familiarization with Space Mission Platform.
  • Willingness to certify in 24/7 365 crew operations position.
  • Provide support for 2-4 proficiency shifts per month on rotating schedule.
  • Understanding of Space Domain Awareness mission.
  • Willingness to travel 20%.
  • Experience leading technical teams.

  • Manages experienced professionals, or team(s) led by lower-level supervisors or managers.
  • Communicates with parties within and outside of the organization.
  • Experience leading one or more teams or a department.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $130,500 - $242,500 This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
