Job Description:
The Sr. Specialist, Industrial Engineering is responsible for technical and administrative support of multiple Manufacturing and Test groups (Antenna, Radio Frequency Equipment, Small Modem, and Commercial Products teams) within Operations. Direct responsibilities include providing engineering support of these products from conceptual development and prototyping through initial and full rate production, product phase-out and Maintenance, Repair, and Overall (MRO). This includes design reviews and approvals, engineering change approvals, master manufacturing process creation and maintenance, continuous improvement activities, capacity planning, time standards analysis, workflow modeling/design, requirements analysis/management, technical project management, build support, test support, and root cause, corrective action.
Essential Functions:
- Assist with the set-up and validation of new work cells
- Conduct capacity analyses
- Analyze manufacturing production problems and implement corrective actions involving designs, materials, and processes
- Provide technical expertise and support related to manufacturing
- Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
- Train production personnel in new or existing operations
- Design layout of equipment and workspaces
- Prepare reports summarizing information/trends related to manufacturing performance
- Insure performance against organizational goals for yield and process capability
- Actively participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) investigations
- Partners with other organizations to create and execute improved manufacturing plans which drive measurable improvements
- Support a culture of continuous improvement, “Right the First Time”, Safety First, audit ready, and Policy & Security compliance
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience,. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering preferred) or Data Analytics
- Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong technical, analytical, and critical thinking / reasoning skills.
- Experience with logistics/production process flows/factory floor layout
- Understanding of all aspects of DoD development and program lifecycle: Design, Implementation, Verification, Production and Sustainment.
