Job Description:
Responsible for performing inspections on materials, equipment, electromechanical assemblies, panel/module level assemblies. Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and lists to approve or reject units, or systems for in process or final assemblies. is responsible for successfully validating products and documentation for compliance to all applicable requirements and preparing items for presentation to the customer for acceptance and delivery.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that products and services conform to established company standards
- Inspection of products and their associated documents in accordance with L3Harris Workmanship Standards, engineering requirements, customer specifications, work instructions, inspection plans, and other requirements as needed
- Hands on experience using gages such as microscopes, calipers, micrometers, thread gages, height gages, scales, and other measuring equipment as needed
- Helps with projects to reduce Touch Time, defects, and Cycle time.
- Assisting with the handling and disposition of Nonconforming Material
- Review, analyze, and reports on quality performance, related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems
- Interface with manufacturing and engineering representatives to ensure that product and system requirements are met
- Recommend opportunities for continuous improvement of the processes and products, to include providing support to inspectors working CI projects
- Participate in cross-functional process development and improvement efforts
- Help to create new processes, tools, and methods to support achievement of quality objectives
- Understand and able to apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and the control of nonconforming material
- Help to draft and revise procedures and work instructions
- Train inspectors on new inspection techniques and tools
- Collaborate and help to create Control Plans for MN’s worked in specified areas
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email communication
- Strong computer skills
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization to achieve effective results
- Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads
- Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620
- Familiar with Aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies
- Familiar with Project Management and Lean tools
