Job Description:
L3Harris Broadband Communications is seeking a Material Handler for their team in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role you will pick material, pack materials, count materials, weigh materials, measure materials, and inventory materials.
Essential Functions:
- Perform physical or administrative tasks supporting the receiving, storing, picking and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
- Verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
- Stock and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
- Check the quality and condition of incoming materials before they are accepted into inventory
- Keep accurate records of inventory levels, organizing stock in the warehouse, and performing cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Store materials in an organized manner within a warehouse or storage facility, ensuring that items are placed in the correct location for easy retrieval
- Select and prepare materials for shipment or production, which includes picking the correct items and packing them securely
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, or automated retrieval systems to move materials safely
- Completing paperwork or digital records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management
- Identify and resolvie discrepancies in shipments or inventory and reporting any issues to supervisors
- Be available to work overtime, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to meet operational demands and ensure that all material handling tasks are completed within required timeframes
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/associate's degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Identify issues and come up with practical solutions in a dynamic warehouse environment.
- Efficiently managing time to fulfill various tasks throughout the day to meet deadlines and productivity goals.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems, databases, and basic computer skills
- The ability to adapt to changing schedules, tasks, and environments
- Accurate record-keeping for inventory control, tracking shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulations
