Job Description:
Manufacturing Associate Manageris responsible to lead, direct, and work directly with lower level leaders and support professionals, accountable for manufacturing of circuit card assemblies (CCAs), in compliance with various specifications. This individual is responsible to lead cross functional teams of manufacturing leaders, technicians, and assemblers, utilizing a variety of manufacturing and testing equipment. Common equipment includes robotic, semi-automatic, and manual devices. This individual will manage work in progress (WIP) to meet schedule and cost targets, and act as a leader and mentor to manufacturing team members to help build skills and improve quality. A qualified individual must be capable of functioning in a highly technical environment, with good communications skills, while problem solving and interfacing with support disciplines such as production control, manufacturing, quality engineering, test engineering, and program management.
Essential Functions:
- Identifies and implements moderate, to substantial, improvements to circuit card manufacturing processes, systems, and solutions.
- Plans and establishes goals and objectives for circuit card manufacturing teams with direct impact on the short-term operational results for the department.
- Provides direct supervision over CCA manufacturing employees, typically consisting of manufacturing technicians and lower level supervisors.
- Determines opportunities for manufacturing operations problem resolution and innovation, requires comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the issues.
- Identify and ensure daily throughput goals are achieved, while maintaining employee utilization, operation costs, and quality targets.
- Coach and Mentor subordinates, to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.
- Direct and implement assembly procedures, equipment, and troubleshooting/debug processes.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations for the team and goal setting.
- Monitor attendance and conduct employee counseling, in compliance with company policies and procedures, manage employee paid time off, as well as overtime.
- Ensure department's financial goals are met through timely completion of projects, process improvements, overhead reduction and other initiatives.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical assembly and quality acceptance processes.
- Advanced technical and operational knowledge of assembling highly technical devices, hands-on experience a plus.
- Knowledgeable and able to interpret drawings and process specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PCs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Working knowledge of SAP and/or equivalent enterprise management software.
- Experience with first time assembly, prototype development and engineering product transition.
- A working knowledge of Theory of Constraints (TOC), Lean, and Six Sigma process improvement tools are desirable.
