Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies, Space and Airborne Imaging Systems, PNT & OCX, Spectral Solutions, & SEO is seeking an exceptionally motivated, proactive individual to support the Procurement function. This role requires an eye for detail, accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven track record for taking the initiative, delivering exceptional results, and exceeding expectations. Our teams are typically comprised of these five (5) commodities and are looking for candidates that have the experience or possess the potential to develop in these areas:
- Cables and Wire: Includes but is not limited to fiber optic cables, cable harnesses, multi-conductor cables, overmolded cables, RF flex cables, semi-rigid cables, semi-flex cables, ribbon cables, power codes and raw wire.
- Contract Manufacturing: Suppliers that market themselves as providing 'electronic manufacturing services' (EMS suppliers). Most EMS providers have the capability to produce printed circuit board assemblies (also known as circuit card assemblies), cables and electromechanical box builds.
- Electronic Components: Are the device or entity within a system used to affect their associated field. Components within this category are procured either through distribution or direct with the manufacturer. This category includes but is not limited to actives, circuit protection, connectors, oscillators/crystals/filters, passives, Radio Frequency components and user interfaces.
- Metals and Fabrication: The building of mechanical structures by cutting, bending, and assembling processes. It is a value-added process that involves the creation of machines, parts, and structures from various raw materials.
- Printed Circuit Boards: Printed circuit board (PCB) forms the backbone of all major electronics, mechanically supporting and electronically connecting electronic components using conductive tracks, pads and other features etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non-conductive substrate. This category includes but is not limited to single and double-sided boards, multi-layer boards, rigid boards, flex boards, and rigid flex boards.
The Procurement function is responsible for acquiring goods and services from suppliers, receiving the right quality, in the right quantity, at the right time, for the right value, from the right source to optimize business performance. In addition, this function's aim is to achieve substantial cost reductions, increase product development speed, and increase quality assurance by incorporating KPIs, strategic planning, supplier vetting, supplier relationship/performance management, category management, risk management, and Lean practices. In this role, the procurement professional will manage the life-cycle of purchase orders from the initial source selection and acquisition strategy or onboarding and vetting of new suppliers, through the solicitation, negotiation, and answering supplier information requests, to awarding a purchase order, to facilitating supplier supports request, managing the cost and schedule of the purchase, including purchase order management/execution, invoicing, payment, or return of materials issues, to finalizing the purchase order closeout processes. L3Harris covers a variety of customer segments including U.S. Federal Government, Other Governments, Defense and Aerospace, and Commercial, both international and domestic. This requires the procurement team to be compliant with all government and agency laws and regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Works under regular supervision and receives project direction and guidance.
- Able to communicate effectively with suppliers, management and support cross-functional requests and inquiries.
- Ensure all applicable program, company, compliance, engineering, quality, specifications, and other item-specific conformance criteria are clearly and adequately conveyed to suppliers for accountability.
- Develops an understanding of the Request for Proposal/Request for Quote (RFP/RFQ) process from Material Requirements Planning (MRP) including quote solicitation, contract flow downs, RFQ memo review, supplier vetting management, and evaluation of awards.
- Able to prepare Purchase Order (PO) compliant packages as required, and as proficiency increases.
- Single point of contact to assigned POs, PO modifications, suppliers, and internal customers.
- Develops an understanding of supplier performance waivers, supplier information requests and resolution processes.
- Responsible for timely administration of purchase order compliance packages, supplier negotiations, purchase order placement, and contract modifications.
- Develops an understanding of PO contract and change management policy, procedure, and practice.
- Ensures supplier is adhering to the technical specifications and terms of the purchase order.
- Proactively communicates with suppliers to identify and resolve internal supply chain disruptions as they arise.
- Develops an understanding of Supplier Support Requests (i.e., supplier deviation requests, first article inspection, supplier change notification, engineering change notice) as applicable to the purchase.
- Develops an understanding of supplier relationship management, system processes including return to vendor, nonconformance request, supplier root cause corrective action requests, and supplier payment processes.
- Develops an understanding of support required to closeout purchase orders related contractual obligations.
- Develops an understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations/Defense Federal Acquisition Requisitions Supplement (FAR/DFARS), Prime and program requirements, Quality Assurance Codes, Trade Compliance Laws, and engineering drawings.
- Basic understanding and ability to negotiate, escalate or execute legal documents as required (i.e., Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Terms and Conditions, etc.).
- Develops an understanding of the basic concept, use, and purpose of Procurement.
- Develops basic knowledge of L3Harris processes, policies, and procedures.
- Develops an understanding of Supply Chain's influence on annual operating plan to include orders, sales, profit, and cash flow.
- Manages personal workload metrics while gaining understanding of supplier metrics.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires broad theoretical job knowledge. Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum 1 year experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $47,500 MIN - $88,000 MAX. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
