Job Description:
L3Harris Space Systems Sector within the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) Segment is seeking a skilled Integration and Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be responsible for supporting production space vehicle and payload testing activities. The individual will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful integration, testing, and validation of space systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, hands-on experience with space systems testing, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for generating acceptance test documentation (e.g., Test Plans, Test Procedures and Test Reports)
- Lead a team of technicians and engineers in the day-to-day execution of acceptance test for Space Payloads and/or Space Vehicles
- Lead failure investigations, perform root cause analysis, and mistake proof planning
- Experience executing space vehicle hardware verification testing at acceptance and/or qualification levels for all relevant environments (vibration, thermal, vacuum, acoustics)
- Experience integrating, testing and verifying small sub-assemblies into large, complex systems, with subsequent integration onto a host spacecraft ultimately composed of many independent payloads and sub-systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience with development of Test Plans, Procedures, Reports and test execution.
- Security Clearance required upon hire: Ability to Obtain
- Security Clearance required for role: Secret
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience working with a multi-discipline technical teams (mechanical, structural, thermal, power, RF, Antenna, electrical, Systems) through all phases of program (initial concept, proposals, SRR, PDR/CDR, I&T, final sell-off)
- Experience with RF measurements and testing, tools, and test equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, Signal Generators, O-Scopes, and RF Test Equipment)
- Familiarity with automation and scripting languages (e.g. LabVIEW, Python, Perl, Ruby, PuTTy, MobaXTerm, Visual Studio code)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a technical information environment
- Experience interfacing directly with customers (both prime contractors and end customers on resolving in-depth technical issues
